Lesson 18 - 19/11/15

Lesson 18 - 19/11/15

In this lesson we aimed to finish and clean the space, forest scenes and create the ending scene.

We split up into two groups, the fairy group and people who werent in that scene to create the ending.
I was in the ending group. We came up with the idea that we should be garden knomes living next to the door to get back to the dentist that stop Timmy from getting back as they think he would make a good knome and want to interview him.

I came up with the idea that we should be quite funny knomes that stay still when timmy is looking at us but move when he isnt and shuffle around this adds a comedy element to the scene which is appealing for the target audience as younger children enjoy things that are funny as well as remember them more.

We then decided that Grandad should be in on the joke as he is friends with the knomes as he used to be one, within this bit we decided to get ash to ask the audience if they believed him that the knomes were alive as well as asking some to be knomes by giving them either a knome hat or a beard this part was my idea. This makes our piece more fun and makes the audience feel more involved within the story, and with our particular target audience, audience incorporation works as it keeps the children involved and interested.

We then went through the fairy scene with the rest and decided to add a small version of a sing off between the fairies and Timmy with the trees, we chose to do this becuase it added more musical elements to the scene as well as making it more upbeat and happy which helps keep the fairy vibe up as they are known to be happy creatures. The two songs decided were Shake it off by Taylor Swift and Happy by Pharell Williams, this song occurs due to an argument between sides so this is effective as it represnts a non-violent fight which appeals to our target audience. I then volunteered to choreographing the shake it off section.
