Dance 12/4 and Dance 19/4

In this lesson I learnt some of the poppies dance.

I find this dance quite different to the rest of the dances within the show as its meant to be sensual but not at the same time as the shows target audience is of a younger demographic. The whole number is about drawing in the lion through the use of dance so that he can't escape.

targets: I need to learn more of the dance so that I can start adding more character and not worrying about the choreography to do this I will come in at lunch times a few times a week to practice for the next few weeks as well as learn it off of the video.

I then started to teach my given number which is Brand New Day. We got half way through in less than an hour I was very impressed with the class. I watched them do what I had taught and liked it even better when in a group. All I need to do is plan out some spacing and finish choreographing the ending.

In this lesson we did Y'all Got it again and rehearsed Ease On Down The Road.

With Y'all got we had to change it as we had the wrong track originally that we choreographed it to. This meant that we had to change around where the dance break was as well as timings for the last section and the lift. This wasn't too hard though as we were all focused in this lesson.

Rehearsing Ease went really well we just had to change it so it fit the stage as we had been practicing within the dance studio.

targets I need to practice both numbers so that I know them perfectly to do this I will practice at home as well as practice when I have time at college for the next two weeks.
