In this lesson we had a meeting with the head make up and hair design lady and did some dance and singing rehearsing.
With the meeting we just had to discuss out ideas for our characters, For Dorothy I know that we were going for a party 70's look so I said something that would be good for going out using colours with out final costume and to have element of silver in it somewhere to link with the silver slippers and Jess and I both wanted something like half up half down for our hair so the women said that she could work something out with her team.
We then went through the Ease On Down the Road choreography, I really love this number as the choreography is really fun and works well in our group, some of the guys found the choreography a bit tricky so we went through it slowly so that everyone got it. Once we did we worked on how to make it more characterised this really helped us develop our character relationships which was good. It was through small things like if we were all shuffling right how would are arms be as our character so it really got us thinking about it in detail as well.
After this we sang through it a few times as well as singing through the other ease on down the roads as well once we knew each one we started working on the choreography for the first two, I came up with the idea that the first two should have little parts from the last big one to show development of their travels and to represent each friend in a way. I liked this because it gave the characters something little that Dorothy could identify which each friend individually.
I need to practice the Ease dances as well as lyrics so that I know them perfectly, I will do this by practicing them in dance lessons as well as when I have free time like lunch and I will do this until I know it off by heart. However I feel that my characterisation and input were strengths for this particular lesson.
